Plan
1) Complete the Drawing Clean: Start with a clean, well-defined sketch that captures the essence of your character. Take your time to refine the lines and ensure that the proportions and details are just right. A solid foundation will make the painting process much smoother.
2) Sketch in a Guide for Your Cumshot: Before diving into the painting stage, create a loose sketch over your clean lineart to plan out the semen pattern you want to add to your character. This guide will help you visualize the final piece and make more intentional choices as you paint. Don’t be afraid to experiment and let happy accidents happen!
Paint
3) Fill the Silhouette with Solid White: Begin by filling in your character’s entire semen silhouette with a solid white color. This will serve as the base for your painting and help you establish the overall form.
4) Clip a Layer on Top: Create a new layer above your solid white semen shape and set it to “Clip” mode. This will ensure that any painting you do on this layer will only affect the area inside the white silhouette, keeping your lineart clean.
Tip: Softly paint in the color of whatever is behind the cum. Paint more to make it transparent. Leave areas of white to get a glowing translucency.
The cum layers on their own look like this:
Why don’t I make a mask and erase out of the cum shape? Because I don’t want the linework underneath to show through. Nothing wrong with it, I just don’t like it. It gets cluttered and doesn’t look as gloopy.
Polish
5) Add Specular Highlights: Once you’ve established the base colors and shading, it’s time to add some polish to your painting. Look at your reference to help place these specular highlights strategically, considering the lighting direction and the character’s pose.
6) Add Subtle Cast and Occlusion Shadows: To really make your painting feel cohesive and grounded, add some subtle cast shadows and occlusion shadows where the semen meets the character’s skin. This will help the fluid feel like it’s truly resting on the surface, rather than floating above it.
Tip: Use a soft brush with a low opacity to gently build up these shadows, paying attention to the forms and how the light would interact with them.
And DONE!
With practice and by following these steps, you’ll be able to create beautifully painted pieces that bring your characters to life. Don’t be discouraged if it feels challenging at first – every painting is an opportunity to learn and improve. Happy painting!
